Pick your division and team in this recreational lunchtime ice hockey league, and get a calendar invite for every game — including the ones the league has not scheduled yet.
How to Use
1
Pick your division and team
That is the whole setup. The tool reads your schedule straight from
lunchleague.net — there is nothing to download first, and no link to find.
If your team has no games listed yet, that is fine: pick it anyway and every
game will arrive as soon as the league posts it.
2
Enter the email address the invites should go to
Set buffer times under Settings if you want the calendar entry
to start before or run past the game — useful for travel and changing.
Want the invite to say something other than the actual matchup? The optional
Rename the event field does that — the time stays real, only
the title changes, and a preview underneath shows exactly what it will say if you
leave it blank.
Then choose one option below
Option A — Watch this calendar
Set once, then forget
Press "Watch this calendar". From then on, with this page
closed, you get a calendar invite for every game the league adds, and a replacement
whenever one is rescheduled — the new invite updates the game already on
your calendar rather than adding a second copy.
Once you are watching, a calendar link also appears next to it in the
list below — a second way in, not a replacement for the emails. Any of
Apple Calendar, Outlook, or
Google Calendar can subscribe to it and stay in sync on its own from
then on, no more emails needed — see "Which is best for your
calendar app?" below for exactly where to paste it in each one.
Apple and Outlook check it continuously; Google checks about once a day, which is
plenty here since games rarely change on shorter notice than that.
Playoff weeks are handled too. The league posts those dates before
it sets a time. Under Calendar Buffers & Privacy there is an
Unscheduled playoff games section: set the window to block, give
them a name if you want one, and each week joins your games above with its own
checkbox — so you can tick it, download it or email it like any other game.
Leave "Block these dates" ticked and the tool holds that
window on the day as well; when the time is announced, the hold is removed
automatically and replaced with the real game.
Option B — Send the invites now
Press "Send Invites" to email the games currently on the
schedule, one message each with a .ics attachment. A one-off: it sends what exists
today and nothing later.
Option C — Download one .ics and import it
"Download All as .ics" saves every selected game in one file.
Also a one-off, and it will not update if a game moves. What to do with that file, by app:
Google Calendar
Click the gear icon → Settings.
In the left sidebar, click Import & export.
Under Import, click Select file from your computer and choose the
downloaded file.
Pick which calendar to add the games to, then click Import.
Apple Calendar
Double-click the downloaded file — it opens directly in Calendar.
Choose which calendar to add the games to, then click OK.
If double-clicking does not open it: in Calendar, use
File → Import… and pick the file yourself. On iPhone or
iPad, open the file from Mail or Files and tap Add All when Calendar
offers to import it.
Outlook
In desktop Outlook: File → Open & Export → Import/Export.
Choose Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file, then
Next.
Browse to the downloaded file and open it.
Choose Open as new (its own calendar) or Import
(merge into an existing one).
In Outlook on the web: Add calendar → Upload from
file, then choose the downloaded file.
Which is best for your calendar app?
Apple Calendar, Outlook, and Google Calendar can all subscribe to the
calendar link from Option A and keep themselves in sync — nothing to re-download
later, in any of them. Apple and Outlook check it continuously; Google checks about once
a day, which does not matter here since games are rarely added or moved on shorter notice
than that. Prefer to be told the moment something changes instead? That is what the email
invites (Option A or B) are for. Steps for the link, by app:
Apple Calendar
Once you are watching, copy the calendar link that appears next
to it in the list on this page.
Open Calendar and choose File → New Calendar Subscription…
Paste the link, click Subscribe, then OK on the
settings that follow — the defaults are fine.
On iPhone or iPad: Settings → Calendar →
Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar,
paste the link, then Save.
Outlook
Copy the calendar link from the list on this page.
In Outlook on the web: go to Calendar, click
Add calendar → Subscribe from web.
Paste the link, give it a name, then click Import.
In desktop Outlook: Calendar → Open Calendar →
From Internet…, paste the link, then OK.
Google Calendar
Copy the calendar link from the list on this page.
In the left sidebar, next to Other calendars, click the
+, then From URL.
Paste the link and click Add calendar.
New games can take up to a day to show up here — that is
how often Google checks a subscribed link, not a setting this tool controls. In
practice it will not be noticeable: the league does not add or move games on shorter
notice than that.
If you load a file instead
Uploading an .ics still works, but it is the lesser path, and it is worth
knowing why. A file is a snapshot. It has no address to re-read, so nothing can watch
it for new or rescheduled games; and unscheduled playoff weeks are never in a .ics at
all — the league only publishes those dates in the HTML schedule table on its
site, which this tool reads from your division and team.
So if you do load a file, pick your division and team as well. It takes
two clicks and restores both. You would otherwise have to type playoff dates in by hand
and keep checking whether they had moved, which is the job this was built to remove.
This is the calendar half. The substitutes, the rank rules and what a
captain confirms are on How it works.
Find Your Team
Pick your division and team. Your schedule, your invites and your playoff dates
all follow from this — nothing else to find or download.
Want every game in a division? Subscribe to its whole schedule
Every game of the season in one calendar, updated as the league schedules them. Games whose
teams the standings decide are marked tentative until they are set.
Team not listed, or the schedule will not load? Use a file instead
A file gives you invites for the games it already contains, but it
cannot be watched for new games and carries
no playoff dates — both of those are read from the league site,
which needs your division and team.

Calendar Buffers & Privacy
Buffer Times & Options
The time stays real — only the title changes. Nobody has to know it's hockey.
The league posts playoff weeks before it sets a time. Block a window and each one
joins your games above — same checkbox, same download, same invite —
and it is replaced with the real game automatically once the time is announced.
Recipient Email
Settings auto-saved in browser
Send Invites — emails each event individually with a .ics attachment via Resend. Download All as .ics — saves all selected events in one file for direct import into Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Mail.
Watch This Calendar
Once your team is loaded above, subscribe here.
Every six hours the link is re-read and an invite is emailed for any event that has been
added, or a replacement for one that has been rescheduled.
It uses the recipient address and buffer settings above, and keeps running with this page closed.
No team picked. Watching still works from a pasted link, but
playoff dates do not — those come from the league’s schedule
table, which needs your division and team. Pick them in Find Your Team above.
